The Professional College of Tirana (KPT) established in 2015, as a novelty in the area of non-public higher education, offers two-year professional study programs in: Information Technology, Electronics, Database and Web Design, Office Administration, Technology of Electrical Installations, Electro – Mechanics, Vehicles Technology, Airing and Conditioning Technology, Construction Technology, Geodesy (Qualification Level 5 of Bologna System). Quality is assessed to be of core essence in the activity of KPT, its distinctive own feature. KPT focuses on updating and modernising the study programs in the context of the market needs, trends and dynamics such as innovation, digitalization, renewable energies, HVAC systems, etc. The mission of KPT is to be a bridge between academic education and professional education, helping students to easily integrate into the global labor market. The vision of KPT is to be a leader in professional education by providing its contribution to the country’s economic development by creating skilled professionals serving our society and economy. The up to date and qualitative labs and simulators help the students to practice theory, exercise their competence and improves their skills that enable, along with qualified staff, (an outstanding academic experience and practice-oriented entrepreneurs), excellent teaching and learning experiences. Our focus is on providing students hands-on experience, practical and professional competences to respond to the needs of a global labour market and today’s digital society. All courses have practical classes that take place in the premises of KPT (labs and / or workshops) or in some cases as study visits in a given Industry, while Professional Practice (internship) is also compulsory course for each study program, which take places in the last semester of the second year. It lasts 6 weeks and it’s “hands on job” training in the respective business or industry related to the given study program. KPT closely cooperates with various stakeholders in the business sector and civil society and it has well established links with the labour market. Hard work and efforts have equipped KPT with a new dimension of internationalization: a visionary friendly user internationalization strategy, clear objectives, enriched project portfolio in Erasmus + CBHE, Jean Monnet, as well as the pilot projects in VET mobility, applied research, out-going short and long term students mobility in EU, staff job shadow etc.
